Week 4 Bets

It's time to place your bets. See what wagers TRO is riding on as Week 4 kicks off.

We fared okay in Week 3 (3-2, with only one bet that was a total whiff). Hopefully you're back with us again this Week, as we try to continue to correctly pick our favorite bets of the week.

Against the Spread:

via NBC Miami

1) Jacksonville Jaguars (-3) over the Atlanta Falcons

Look for Jacksonville to bounce back following an underwhelming performance against the Houston Texans. We like the matchup here, and feel like the Jags are just simply the better team. For what it's worth, they also have a large fan base in the U.K., and are used to traveling across the pond often, including a trip there just this past year.

2) Kansas City Chiefs (-9.0) over the New York Jets

As long as Zach Wilson is the quarterback of the Jets, they might be a good target to bet against each week in some capacity. There's a good opportunity here, catching Kansas City as less than 10 point favorites. All you need is a 2-possession lead in any form, and you'll cover. Mahomes, Kelce, T-Swift, and the bright lights of Sunday Night Football, this one seems like an easy bet.

Prop Bets:

1) Adam Thielen over 4.5 receptions against the Minnesota Vikings

If you've tracked the Panthers' games through the first 3 weeks, you've probably noticed that Adam Thielen has become arguably their best offensive player. Last week, he totaled 11 catches for 145 yards and a touchdown. The week before that he caught 7 passes for 54 yards and a score. Mix in the fact that Minnesota has a suspect secondary, and we can't forget that this will also be the first time he'll be facing his hometown team where he spent the first 9 years of his career. He should have no problem finding 5 or more catches.

Teasers:

via Sports Illustrated

1) Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens 6-point Teaser (Rams go from -1.0 to +5.0 against the Indianapolis Colts; Ravens go from +3.0 to +9.0 against the Cleveland Browns)

The teasers have not been kind to us so far, but we think this one is going to break the mold. The 6 point swing makes the betting favorite Rams into 5 point dogs, which will cover you if they lose a close game, but we like their odds to win this game Sunday. Also, you get a chance to mix in a AFC North division showdown, widening that spread to 9 points. Baltimore could very well win this game, but even if they don't, we just don't see this game getting out of hand either way you draw it up.
